OUR APPROACH

About CH-J development

Josef Chudy develops the project. CH-J grows around specific system administration tasks: connecting to servers, transferring files, running diagnostics and checking downloaded data. Public documentation describes the features and their limitations.

Server Manager stores credentials in an encrypted local vault and requires no CH-J account. Alpha releases are still evolving. Before working on important systems, check the current limitations and prepare backups.

Security and transparency

Published releases provide SHA-512 checksums and detached OpenPGP signatures. The documentation explains how to verify files and establish trust in the signing key. Source code for individual releases can be browsed on the product website.

Server Manager is free for commercial and noncommercial use under the CH-J Proprietary Software License 1.14. Making source code available for inspection does not make it open-source software; the license defines modification and redistribution rights.
